Tezcatlipoca

Aztec demigod and professional Mexican luchadore. How can you go wrong with that? This was another Project CBRunway design, where I got to team up with another competitor (the talented DSquared) to create a duo. He came up with the idea and I fell in love with it immediately, much to his surprise. We made Tez a tag team partner to his brother Quetzalcoatl, whom DSquared designed. I'd love to do more with this character.

Wunderkind

This was a fun character design for CBR Runway... first challenge in season five I believe, where we had to create a sidekick to any Avenger. I had an idea for a German character named Wunderkind that I felt would work well for a Wonder Man sidekick. It's a little known fact that the Germans love Wonder Man almost as much as they love David Hasselhoff. Some felt the rounded "w" was kinda upsidedown McDonald-ish, but I went with it because I felt the lowercase styling worked well in conjunction for a sidekick of a major player with an uppercase "W". I was happy with how it turned out in the end, and wound up winning the round with this one.

Novo

This would be my first-ever published pin-up for the series Novo for my buddy Michael Bracco, creator of this series and Adam Wreck for AlternaComics. We had a lot of fun facing off against each other on Project CBRunway in the Comic Book Resources forums, and it was a honor to be asked to contribute this for Book 3 (The final volume, Book 5, will be coming out in September... go check the series out!)

Zero, the Ghost Hunter

Another REMAKE/REMODEL design. I picked up my love for ghost dogs in this one, done way before the Misty cover design. The ghost splatter effect on the ground was kinda fun too.

The Light Fantastic

Time to pull up a design from my Project CBRunway days. Up first.... The Light Fantastic. For this challenge, we were required to design a fifth member to the Fantastic Four. I went a little cosmic with my design, and followed the concept of the four elements associated with the founding FF members by basing this design off of the "fifth element"... aether It was a fun challenge, and one of the few that I did manage to win.

Never managed to finish my last attempt at Supergirl for the REMAKE/REMODEL challenge, and was sad to run out of time on that one.

Misty

Another REMAKE/REMODEL submission for a cover to a British girl anthology title called Misty. It had some strange ideas for its serialized stories, and I liked the idea for the one that involved a ghost dog so I had to give it a shot. Didn't have the time to color it this time around.

Still working on the R/R Supergirl. Had another design fully drawn out the other day, and yet again it failed to say "This is my version of Supergirl" to me. I'm in the midst of a third attempt, which I'm sure is gonna work this time. Fingers crossed... : P

Jenny Everywhere

Throwing in another Whitechapel REMAKE/REMODEL Rdesign. This time for Jenny Everywhere, a public domain character created through the internet.

There's a Supergirl REMAKE/REMODEL thread up this week that I'm itching to create something for. I actually did get a drawing done up for it already, but it didn't quite feel right as Supergirl re-design. Luckily, I figured out another use for the design that can be applied towards a new character that I've had in mind for a little while.
